Photograph Competition
Kintyre Way Annual Photographic Competition.
The Kintyre Way is Scotland’s newest and most scenic long distance walk. In order to help us record the ever-changing landscape and seascape and the biodiversity we enjoy so much we are holding an annual photographic competition. We are very pleased that Olympus have provided a state of the art compact digital camera, FE 5030, as the prize and Robert Wiseman Dairies, our main sponsors, are also providing a year’s supply of milk to the winner. Please read the rules below, and when you have your award winning picture send as a .jpeg file to photo@kintyreway.com and your covering email should include your name and address.
Photographs should be the highest resolution possible, minimum 1024 wide (landscape) or 1024 high (portrait) and the file should be no larger than 2MB in file size.
Closing date: 30 October 2010. The winner will be announced on Wednesday 3rd November 2010.
The Rules
1. This competition is open to all who have walked all or part of the Kintyre Way in 2010.
2. You can enter by sending your picture as a .jpeg file to photo@kintyreway.com. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The competition entries will be displayed and judged at the Kintyre Way annual conference.
3. If you enter the competition your photograph may be published on Kintyreway.com and may be used in publicity for the Kintyre Way and associated projects and by our sponsors in their magazines, publicity and web site.
4. All entries must be received by the closing date (noon GMT on 30th October 2010).
5. The names of the winner and runners-up will be published on KintyreWay.com soon after the winners are announced.
6. By submitting your photograph for entry into the competition you will retain your copyright and also herby grant to us and our sponsors a royalty free, non assignable, worldwide, non exclusive licence to use the photograph for publication for all time.
7. You warrant that any photographs you submit are your own original work and that you own the copyright and any other relevant rights in such image and you have the permission of any people identifiable in the picture. Entrants confirm that their entry is their own original work, is not defamatory and does not infringe any UK laws. The image must also not have already been professionally commissioned.
8. Your moral rights will be respected; you will be credited if your photograph is published.
9. Any commercial opportunities that arise following the publication of the submitted photograph will be notified to the photographer who will be free to negotiate terms independent of the competition. You will be free to decline any commercial usage licences, this will not affect your chances of winning.
10. All personal data provided to the Kintyre Way and the competition sponsors in relation to this competition will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and you hereby consent to us processing all personal data for the purposes of this competition.
11. The prize is an Olympus compact digital camera and a years supply of milk from Robert Wiseman Dairies.
12. No cash alternative is available. Prize is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-changeable. Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
